Sowohl für Anfänger als auch für Fortgeschrittene geeignet. Dieses Buch beinhaltet und zeigt genau was ich gesucht habe. Die Gesichter auf dem Cover werden auf mehreren Seiten jeweils mit verschiedenen Mimiken gezeigt. Es wird also pro Charakter nicht nur ein Gesicht + Ausdruckt gezeigt wie ein Vorredner behauptet. Es wird vom Grundriß bis zum fertigen Gesicht in wenigen Schritten gezeigt wie man die gewünschte Mimik erreicht. Am unteren Bildrand werden auch noch andere Zeichenstile für die gleiche Mimik gezeigt. Für mich, der anfangen möchte mehr als nur 2,3 Gesichtsausdrücke zu zeichnen, ist dieses Buch ideal. Die Beschreibungen im Buch sind auch hilfreich und gut geschrieben. Klare kaufempfehlung.
Ich hab selten ein Buch gesehen, dass sich mit so viel Liee zum Detail Mühe gibt, dem Leser Einblicke in die Welt des zeichnens zu geben. Die Autoren fangen bei Adam und Eva an und führen den Leser schrittweise über das Zeichnen von grundlegenden Formen bis hin zu ganzen Szenerien.Habe jetzt jeden Tag eines der Beispiele durch und bin begeistert, man merkt Tag für Tag einen Fortschritt und lernt was. Kann es nur empfehlen. Abgesehen davon ist das Buch super witzig geschrieben!
Es werden hier verschiedene Charaktere in verschiedenen Gemütsstimmungen beschrieben und das Nachzeichnen mit diversen Hinweisen begleitet.Sehr gut für den Einstieg der Mimik-Studien geeignet.
An sich ein sehr gutes Buch, aber man hat das Gefühl das die Mimiken zu speziell auf die jeweiligen Charaktere beschränkt sind. Ich denke das gegenteil wurde versucht zu zeigen. Aber dadurch das jede Mimik von einem anderen sehr eigenen Charakter dargestellt wird ist man abgelenkt von den Grundregeln der Mimik.Ich würde dieses Buch nicht unbedingt empfehlen wenn mich jemand fragt wo er am besten Mimik erlernt. Das Buch befasst sich in meinen Augen nicht stark genug mit den Grundlagen der Mimik. Es prescht sofort in die Mitte.Ich glaube das nicht jeder damit so einfach umgehen kann. Ich kann es nicht.
After reading several critical reviews here, I was a little hesitant to buy this book. I'm glad I ordered it anyway.Despite the fact that the art in this book is excellent, it's not a coffee table book, nor is it an art showcase for the authors. This book is designed for the beginner to intermediate level artist who wants to get a good understanding of what happens when a human face goes about the business of describing emotions and feelings.The book consists of 2 main parts. The first part is an illustrated breakdown and explanation of individual facial features. In other words, a step-by-step approach to drawing expressive eyes, noses, chins, etc. All the essentials are presented and thoroughly covered with the underlying anatomy taken into consideration. The second part shows how all these parts of the face work together to convey a believable character expression.My favorite part of the book is where the authors created a character for each set of emotions and dedicated a page spread to each expression. Each spread is a step-by-step drawing tutorial with a short paragraph of useful instructions for every step.I wanted to improve my confidence and skill in sketching and drawing cartoon expressions and this book did the job perfectly. Big thanks to the authors and the publisher for putting it together.
I use this book in my art class to show how facial features change with expressions. The book has wonderful series of characters who are put through various situations, and it shows how to re-draw their face through each expression change. The art is superb, especially compared to other books in its price-range. The only issue is that I have had to censor the book because some of them images are not school appropriate. There are several (heavily exaggerated) scantily clad women and a man who goes through the stages of being drunk and hungover.
Very well written and easy to comprehend. I really like that it is trying to teach you to draw your own characters using the knowledge of expressions they teach your rather than learn to draw 100 characters that are their own....this book teaches you to create expressiona while coloring outside the lines....other books demonstrate expression and ask you to not only color in the lines, but copy their lines first.
You're brain will start looking at angles you never thought you could before looking through this book. A mirror will take you pretty far, but this book can make the journey even more effective.
