I've been a fan of Ruby's art for years and I couldn't wait for this book to come out. A magnificent book, relatable comics, a simply extraordinary take on the serious issue that is mental illness and how to survive at times you'd rather not. It's one of the realest things I've ever read and made me cry tears of sadness and joy! Life is terrifying but this book is definitely one of those little things that make it more bearable. 10/10
I've been following Ruby on social media for a few years now and I knew I'd love this book as soon as she announced it (which I then of course forgot about until a week ago). It's funny and relatable in the best (and worst) ways.
Loved everything about this book - the ddrawings, the humour, the topics. Do yourself a favour and go read "It's all absolutely fine: Life is complicated so I've drawn it instead".
I've been a fan of ruby for quite some time now and really, this book is just perfect, makes you laugh but also think about mental health and the struggles that come with it
**I received a copy of this book via netgalley in exchange for an honest review.**I have never come across Ruby and her drawings before, but when I saw the book on netgalley, I was intrigued.Overall, it's not a bad book. Some of the short comics are quite funny (maybe 1/4 of the book?), but a lot of them where just not my cup of tea. There is much about her personal experiences with mental health issues (depression, anxiety, eating disorder, ...), so people with a similar background might recognise themselves and maybe go "Ah, I am not alone!" - if they do, I hope they get help. You are not supposed to feel this bad - life can be better. :)Luckily, I am mentally healthy-ish, so I could not really relate to a large part of the book.Also, the drawings are quirky but not beautiful - if you are looking for amazing art, this book is not for you. :)In short, not amazing but worth a read.
